A really pleasant place to crash after snowboarding at Mt. Baker. Really great location given it's right down the street from two of the bigger stores in the area and a couple of restaurants as well. At the checkin the folks in the building described the lodging as "glamping," but I think it's a step up from that. However, there is no oven or stove - I believe this is listed in the description - just bear that in mind if you're planning to cook (there is a grill to make burgers/dogs/etc.)

This cute cabin exceeded all of our expectations. Very easy to find the office as well as the cabin itself. Everything was provided for us and the game room was definitely a plus. Cleanliness was excellent as well both inside and out. This is by far the perfect place to get away if you’re from the city/suburbs.

Great cabin in a beautiful setting! Very comfortable and met all of our needs. The bathroom facilities do require walking outside and sharing with other guests. We had no complaints but this could be an issue for others.

This little cabin-esque stay was clean, scenic, quiet, and charming. We had a little trouble navigating the map and identifying where to park initially as we were late getting in. Just be aware you cannot rely on street lights out here so drive slow and keep your eyes peeled to spot the markers on the map. We will definitely come back! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Close to all Mount Baker and NW Washington has to offer. The cabin was great for 2 adults and a dog. The kitchen was limited but a bit of meal prep we had great dinners each night.

Hi Jason: Thank you for the great review for family Cabin #71! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and that you found the cabin to be "close to Mount Baker and (all that) NW Washington has to offer". It is important to note that (as noted in the description) the cabin has a kitchenette, not a full kitchen so cooking is definitely more restrictive. The drive to Maple Falls is beautiful. Upon arriving on check-in, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. They were ready for me with my key, and a little packet of information on how to get to the cabin and the wifi password. The road to the cabin is dark so it's easy to miss the pink flamingo they mention they have as a land marker. It's not right on the edge of the road, but set back a little bit, tied to the street sign, so make sure to drive slow when you get close to the 1.7 miles distance of driving from the office. Once there, the property is lovely. Bathrooms are accessed from the outside, but don't think for second that they aren't nice! They are lovely and heated! The main area of the cabin is quite spacious for a kitchen and one main room. There isn't a stovetop/oven, so be prepared to bring some camping cooking device for a hot cooked meal. But there is a microwave and toaster oven that work for getting a hot meal together without having to go outside. But they do have a grill and wood burning stove outside that's covered and on concrete. The cabin is also heated and it can get quite warm, which is really a nice problem to have. The windows are large and give a lovely view of the area if all you wanted to do was stay inside. But there are some great places to hike within 10-15 min driving if you're itching to get out. This place was perfection. Can't wait to come back again soon!

Response From: Mt. Baker Lodging, Inc.

Hi Jade: Thank you for the outstanding review for family Cabin #71! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay and that you found the property to be "lovely". Too funny regarding the pink flamingo, as whilst it makes a great landmark, it actually belongs to someone else and is located on that person's property (unrelated to the rental). We hope that that property owner never decides to move it! We're happy to hear that you had an opportunity to take advantage of the outdoor gazebo area. Many thanks for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was truly a pleasure hosting you. We would highly recommend you to other hosts, and we look forward to seeing you again during your next visit to the Mt. Baker area 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving, Dan

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was clean, cute and very comfortable. The shared bathroom was barely noticeable. And the property was gorgeous! Our dogs were happily welcomed and enjoyed playing and running on the walking paths around the fields. This was the perfect place to rest between adventures out in the mountains!

Charming little cottage. My family enjoyed it very much. Clean and spacious enough for 3 adults and 1 kid. They have a shared game room with a foosball table, patio with grill and a big field to run and walk your dog. Just to be clear the 2 bathrooms are shared as well with another cabin (2 people). It was not very clear to me from the description, but they are kept clean and overall very nice. Overall the value/price, especially comparing with other listings is definetely worth it.

Great place to stay. Close to the lake and hiking. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We brought our own camping kitchen stove and items. We were able to cook meals inside. Their grill was fun to use too.
The hosts suggested we wake at 3:00 AM to watch the meter shower. We did. It was fabulous. I loved it!
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We will share your kudos with our housekeeping team. They will be equally thrilled! We're happy to hear that you had an opportunity to see the meteor shower during your stay. It's a rare sight, but when it does occur, it can be spectacular with very little in the way of light pollution in our area. Nice budget friendly space if you're looking to spend all day outside around the area then just eat, relax, and sleep at the place. Disposable plates, cups, plasticware were provided for the lean kitchen (ideal for COVID times). You'll likely want to bring critical items (bottle opener, wine opener, microwaveable foods, and even bottled water) to supplement what's in the kitchen. It's quiet and close to nature than any place right off of 542. We had two people and one medium dog. That seems just about right. Bathroom sharing was easy for our trip (seems to be shared with only one other listing at the property).

Response From: Mt. Baker Lodging, Inc.

Hi James: Thank you for the great review for rustic family Cabin #71! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and that you found it to be a "nice budget friendly space". The disposable items that you're referring to were left behind by a previous Guest. Rather than discard them, we decided to leave them there for just the reasons that you described. That said; the cabin is also equipped with regular dishware. It's important to remember that the cabin is equipped with a "kitchenette" and not a full kitchen, so there is no oven. Guests will want to plan ahead accordingly. There is also an outdoor BBQ provided in the common area gazebo that is shared with the other cabin (#72) on the property, as are the two bathrooms. Many thanks for the neat and tidy way in which you left the cabin upon departure. It was truly a pleasure hosting you. We would highly recommend you to other hosts, and we look forward to seeing you again during your next visit to the Mt. Baker area 🙂 Happy trails, Dan
